BEST::HACKath0n Rules


1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1. Hackathon is an event where developers, designers, engineers gather to create and present their projects in a limited time, in intensive and command mode.

1.2. BEST::HACKath0n - is a Hackathon organized by the non-profit international student organization BEST Lviv.

1.3. Purpose: student development.

1.4. BEST:: HACKath0n period:
November 27-28, 2021. On November 26, there will be an opening for Hackathon.

1.5. Mentors-formed team of specialists, representatives of leading IT companies that provide information and advisory services to the team during BEST :: HACKath0n.

2.BEST::HACKath0n FORMAT

2.1. BEST ::HACKath0n is performed in non-stop programming format. Participants will have 24 hours to develop the project from an idea to a working prototype.

2.2. Participants are not limited by the platforms or technologies. All teams will compete in a common category, united by a theme for which projects will be developed.

2.3. BEST :: HACKath0n Them - Cooperation.


3. PROCEDURE FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE BEST::HACKath0n

3.1. BEST :: HACKath0n partaker (further - the Participant) may be students of Ukrainian full-time institutions of higher education.

3.2. An individual is considered a Participant after successfully passing the selection stage.

3.3. Registration starts on October 10.

3.4. Number of people in the team: 3-5 (from 3 to 5)

3.5. Number of teams: +-15.

3.6. At the end of the registration period, the teams that completed the registration form received test tasks, which will take five days to complete.

3.7. Commands will be selected for the results of the test task. Teams that successfully pass the test tasks are considered by BEST :: HACKath0n Participants.


4. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

4.1. The project is created by the team during BEST :: HACKath0n.

4.2. You can use any technology and platform to develop projects.

4.3. Projects must fit the BEST :: HACKath0n theme.

4.4. Every hour teams will have to fill in their projects at GitHub. The process will be described in detail during the competition.

4.5. It is forbidden to present projects developed before the start of BEST::HACKath0n or not by team members.

4.6. The organizers have the right not to allow a design that contradicts generally accepted moral and cultural values, affects sexual, pornographic content, incites interracial or ethnic hatred, opposes current legislation of Ukraine.

4.7. Projects must not contain viruses, Trojans, worms, or malicious code.

4.8. Projects remain the intellectual property of the Participants who developed them.


5. PROCEDURE OF BEST::HACKath0n

5.1. BEST::HACKath0n - will be held online

5.2. Project program:
Day 0: Opening, training, and workshops.
Day 1: Team registration, the start of the competition
Day 2: End of the round, project presentations, awards, closing

5.3. Teams can seek help from Mentors.

5.4. Participants are not provided with laptops, computers, or testing devices.


6. PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING WINNERS

6.1. After completion of the projects, the teams will present their projects to the judges.

6.2. Number of judges - 3-6.

6.3. At the end of the presentations on the judges' scores, the winning team as well as the teams finishing the 2nd and 3rd places will be elected.


7. RULES OF CONDUCT DURING THE PROJECT

7.1. Plagiarism is prohibited. Each software product is intellectual property.

7.2. It is forbidden to interfere the work of other participants. It is not permitted to treat other participants, organizers, and people involved in projects with contempt and aggression.

7.3. It is prohibited to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the project.

7.4. BEST :: HACKath0n organizers have the discretion to determine if a participant is eligible to participate in projects.


8. OTHER CONDITIONS

8.1. At the time of registration to participate in Hackathon, the Participant agrees to the terms of these Rules and undertakes to comply with them. Failure to comply with the terms of these Rules shall be grounds for disqualification of a member.

8.2. The organizers of the Hackathon may make any changes or additions to these Rules in the manner prescribed by the legislation of Ukraine.

8.3. These Rules, as well as changing them, will provide opportunities from the moment they are posted on the website http://hack.best-lviv.org.ua/

8.4. The BEST organizers: HACKath0n are not liable for any disputes or damages related to Hackathon, its participants, intellectual property, and related projects.

8.5. The organizers of BEST :: HACKath0n are not responsible in case of force majeure, such as natural disasters, fire, floods, hostilities of any kind, blockades, significant changes in legislation, and other circumstances beyond the control of the organizers.

8.6. In agreeing to the rules, participants agree to process the information provided at the time of registration and during the project.
